Description of Icaraí (Brazil)
Icarai de Amontada, commonly referred to as Icaraizinho, is a fishing village on Brazil's northern coast that provides solid conditions for kitesurfing and windsurfing across various skill levels. The beach is lined with palm trees, creating a scenic environment for water sports. The area benefits from consistent trade winds, averaging 20-25 knots from July to January, and often reaching 25-30 knots during August and September.
The launch site has soft, shell-free sand and ample space for kitesurfers. The eastern bay is suitable for wave riding at high tide, while the western bay offers flat water conditions at low tide. While it’s not overly crowded, the atmosphere remains laid-back and friendly, making it a comfortable spot for kitesurfers. The prime season to visit spans from July to December when wind conditions are most favorable.
