Description of Hanko (Finland)

Hanko is located at the southernmost tip of Finland. There are beaches in the Hanko peninsula that are suitable for all wind directions, with the exception of the northeast wind. You can find all conditions, flat, choppy, and waves (when windy). There are several places to get out in the water according to the different wind conditions.
Silversand, the towns' beach works best with the West and North directions of the wind and it is good for beginners.
Slaktis/Helo is good both with Southwest and Northwest winds but requires intermediate and advanced riding skills.
Tulliniemi beach is best when the wind blows from southeast to Southwest and it is good for all riding levels.
No wonder Hanko is called the mecca of Finnish kiteboarding.
