Description of Tulum (Mexico)

Tulum could be named the pearl of the Riviera Maya. A laid-back Mexican-Caribbean village just 20 years ago, it has become one of the coolest tourist spots in the last decade. The tropical vegetation is lush, the crystalline sea with emerald reflections is enchanting and the coral beaches are dazzling white. The kitesurfing season here goes from the middle-end of November to April. The wind is normally pretty mild with an average speed of 10-13 knots, making it a great place for hydrofoils. On the high windy days, the waves become bigger and can add more spice to the kite sessions, but they normally shore break and don't allow a real wave riding if not occasionally. The beach is not very large and full of tourists, which makes tricky the kite launch and landing, which requires assistance for sure. Said so, it is a magical place for a kite session and if you manage to ride at sunset in front of the Mayan Ruins, it can be a lifetime memory.
