Description of Qurum Beach Muscat (Oman)

Qurum Beach in Muscat is a great spot to go kiting. It is a large sandy beach that gets wider in low tides and even when shrinking in high tides it offers plenty of space to launch and land the kite.
The main season is during the cold months from November to April and thanks to thermal wind the best time of the day to ride is normally the afternoon.
Water gets deep slowly so for hydrofoils it is required to get a bit further inside the sea to have enough depth to ride, especially during the low tide period.

During tide changes, currents can be pretty strung as pointed out by the signs on the beach. A lot of stones and debris on the beach can cause issues to the kite if dragged on the sand badly.
