Description of Seco Island (Philippines)

Seco Island is a small, uninhabited sandbar located in the Sulu Sea, about 50 km west of Panay. It offers excellent kitesurfing conditions with shallow, flat waters and no reliefs, allowing riders to navigate in any wind direction. The spot is suitable for beginners, intermediates, and advanced kitesurfers alike.

The best season for kitesurfing at Seco Island is from November to April, with winds typically blowing from the Northeast direction. The island's sandbank is approximately 400 meters long and 100 meters wide, providing a beautiful and safe area for launching kites. Since there are no trees or structures, the wind is consistent across the area, making it an ideal location for progression in skills. Seco Island is renowned for its breathtaking sunsets and clear starry night skies, offering a unique and serene kitesurfing experience.

Although the island itself is uninhabited, trips are often organized from Boracay, which can include camping or staying on the boat. These trips usually include food and beverages, making the overall experience both fun and convenient. When not kitesurfing, enjoy the beautiful sunsets and stargazing nights on Seco Island. Nearby Boracay offers vibrant nightlife, restaurants, and various tourist activities such as snorkeling and island hopping. The island of Panay also provides opportunities for additional exploration.
