Description of Los Palmones (Spain)
When Levante is too strong to kite in Tarifa, a great option is Los Palmones, a great spot directly in the Bay of Gibraltar, 17 kilometers from Tarifa center. Due to its position, it offers a breathtaking view all the bay.
The beach isn't huge as in Tarifa but has plenty of space to set up the kite and launch/land. As per most of the beaches in Tarifa, kitesurfing is prohibited during the summer months (June to September).
The condition on the spot goes from choppy to flat water and you can even ride in the lagoon made by Rio Palmones' estuary.
