Description of Cartella Lagoon (Acquatina) (Italy)
This artificial lagoon is an amazing flat water spot when the Northwind (tramontana) blows. The lagoon is facing directly the sea and you can also have a wave session just by crossing a tiny stripe of beach sand.
The spot is quite safe even though some good wind days can get a bit crowded. But the lagoon is big enough to offer space to several riders.

There are no special amenities right on the spot, but all the coast is a well-known touristic destination, so plenty of choice for food and accommodation. For great nightlife, the close city of Lecce is a must.

How to get There
The spot is midway between Casalabate and San Cataldo. Drive along the coast on Sp133. if you are coming from the north (Brindisi), you will find the lagoon on your left 2/3 km after passing Torre Chianca. If you are coming from the South, pass Frigole and you will find the lagoon and the dirt road that leads to it after 1 km on the right.
