Description of El Cujo (Mexico)

El Cuyo is a fishermen’s village situated in Yucatan, Mexico next to the Rio Lagartos National Reserve. It is only 2 hours drive from Cancun or Tulum, and 2.5 hours driving from Playa del Carmen and Merida. The Spot is characterized by turquoise blue shallow waters and white sand beaches. In the surroundings, you can spot marine birds and pink flamingos, sea turtles, and a small lighthouse above Mayan ruins. Wind averages between 10 and 25 Knots and even when forecast isn't great you can find kiting conditions due to thermal effects.
