Description of Puclaro (Chile)
Chile's most iconic spot, Puclaro its a reservoir located on the Elqui Valley. It has 9 months of wind a year from September until may, the wind is generated by a difference of temperature between La Serena (city on the coast) and Vicuña (the Valley's city) and a venturi effect of at least 10km; the forecast isn't accurate at all so you have to look for a difference of at least 3C° between the coast and the valley. The water its around 17C° so a 4/3mm wetsuit is needed.

By the Santiago airport you can take a flight to La Serena and straight out of the the airport yp can take a bus in Vicuna direction that will leave you on the road to the spot or you can take a taxi. You also have buses from Santiago-La Serena or one straight Santiago-Vicuna
