Description of Capusan Beach (Philippines)

Capusan Beach, located on Cuyo Island in the Philippines, is a kitesurfing spot with great conditions. The beach features a broad sandy area and a long sandbar, which facilitates kite launches. During the Amihan season from December to February, winds generally range from 17 to 35 knots, benefiting experienced kiteboarders.

However, in the months around this season—specifically October, November, March, and April—the wind tends to be lighter and less reliable, ranging from 13 to 25 knots. While Capusan Beach accommodates both beginners and advanced riders, caution is advised near the pier due to offshore winds, which can pose risks for novices; they should stick to the opposite side where conditions are more favorable with onshore or cross-onshore winds. The area also has flat water and shallow sections, making it appealing for freeriders as well as beginners. For convenience, the beach is only a short walk from the town center, adding to its accessibility. Overall, Capusan Beach is a practical choice for kiteboarding with its steady winds and extensive sandy beach.
