Description of Wudam As Sahil (Oman)

Wudam Al Sahil is a coastal village located in the Batinah region of the Sultanate of Oman. The village hosted the 2010 Asian Beach Games and you can still see the competition structures on the beach. The spot has a wide dark sand beach where you can set up the kite comfortably, with plenty of space. As with most of the places in the Indian Ocean, there are visible tide movements, but they don't change the riding conditions which can variate from choppy to waves in the not common high wind days. The thermal effect shows its presence in the afternoon when it can add some knots to the wind speed having in the afternoon the normal best hours for kiting. Best month to have winds are winter and spring.

Maybe not be worth a real journey to reach this spot, but great if you live close by and it is a windy day. In the end, being out on the water feels great anywhere

Equipment

Shorty isn't a must, maybe just in January and February, the rest of Lycra is good to be used to prevent sunburns.
