Boca Paila - Sian ka'an
Water: Crystal Clear
Description of Boca Paila - Sian ka'an (Mexico)
Boca Piala is a difficult to reach spot but can pay back with great kite sessions in turquoise shallow waters basically with no one around. The spot is located in the land stretch between Tulum and Punta Allen in the Sian Ka'an Bio reserve. Conditions are great thanks to the very shallow bottom just outside the mouth of the river. As all around Yucatan water is warm and the wind is gentle, so bring adequate sized kites.

No People on the Spot
Lycra to protect from the sun. Occasionally a shorty in the winter season.
The spot on the sea has shallow water and easy conditions. The big danger comes from occasional crocodiles in the mouth of the river, so avoid at all costs to go inside the river and stay safe on the sea coast.
All the side activities you can do on a tropical beach. For bars, hotels, and restaurants, you have to head back to Tulum.
How to get There
From Tulum Village head to the Hotel area along the coast. Go all the way through the end of the hotel area, pass the entrance to the Sian Ka'an reserve (fee payment is needed to enter the Bio Sphere). Drive on the Tulum-Punta Allen carretera for a good 40 minutes and you'll find the bridge on Boca Paila
The access goes through some jungle path on the side of the river
